About Literacy Stations
Made by a first grade teacher, for first grade teachers.
Hi, I’m Rachael Hull. I spent more than 20 years in the classroom, teaching in Title I schools in Northwest Indiana, and I’m the creator of Teaching Firsties.
Many of my students came to school with less, and every minute of instruction mattered. That shaped how I build resources: they need to be flexible, low-prep, and ready to support the way you already teach, so every student can do the same work at their own level.
Literacy Stations is where I put everything I wish I’d had during literacy centers: writing, reading, fluency and spelling stations that use the same routine all year, so students know exactly what to do, and every student can finish at their own level.

What you can count on
Every station is built the same way
Teachers told me what they needed most, and every resource on this site is built around it.
✂️
Low-prep
Print it, laminate it once, and use it again every year. No complicated setup.
🔁
The same routine all year
Consistent formatting means students learn the routine once and work independently all year.
📶
Three levels in every activity
Students write words, sentences or short paragraphs, so the whole class can do the same task at their own level.
✅
Standards-based, print + digital
Aligned to 1st grade standards and the Science of Reading, with Google Slides versions for many resources.
Two sites, one goal
Help first grade teachers teach literacy without the overwhelm
