The St Patricks Day Writing Center offers 1st grade students vocabulary practice and independent writing activities. Students practice narrative, informative, and descriptive writing with activities aligned to 1st grade writing standards and the Science of Reading. Activities are differentiated so students can write at their own level, from individual words to complete sentences and short paragraphs.
Students work on the same first grade writing activities, but with different expectations based on their skill level. Some students may write words independently, some might write sentences, and some may be ready for short paragraphs.
Each activity in the St Patricks Day Writing Center resource is designed to help students independently practice their current writing skills. This ensures each student can complete their writing center tasks successfully.
Yes! The 1st grade writing activities are designed to be flexible. Use them for writer’s workshop, independent writing centers, or free writing time.
